KDF Recruitment Portal: Official Application Website and How to Verify It

Status: The last completed recruitment drive was the 2025 intake (advert issued 14 September 2025; shortlists released 21–24 October 2025; interviews held November–December 2025). As of 13 September 2026, the Ministry of Defence has not published an advert for a new 2026 recruitment exercise. Envanter Media checks mod.go.ke and updates this page as soon as that changes.

The official KDF application portal is recruit.mod.go.ke, operated by Kenya’s Ministry of Defence. No portal is currently accepting applications, because no 2026 recruitment cycle has been announced (see status above). Treat any site claiming to process KDF applications right now as unverified until it is confirmed on mod.go.ke.

The Official Channels

Application portal: recruit.mod.go.ke – used for GSO Cadets, Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/Women in the 2025 cycle.
Ministry of Defence website: mod.go.ke – where every recruitment advert and shortlist is published first.
General Duty Recruits / Constables: no online portal at all – these categories are recruited in person at itinerant centres, announced on mod.go.ke.

How to Tell a Fake Portal From the Real One

Domain check: the genuine portal sits on the go.ke government domain. Lookalike domains (.com, .net, or misspelled variants) are not official, no matter how convincing the design.
No fees, ever: the real portal never asks for payment to submit, process, or guarantee an application. Any request for money is fraud.
No private “agents”: the Ministry has repeatedly warned that individuals claiming they can secure a slot through personal connections are running a scam.
Cross-reference the advert: a genuine recruitment link is always accompanied by an official advert (PDF or news release) on mod.go.ke with matching dates and categories.
Verify through the hotline: if in doubt, report the link and check with KDF via the official fraud-reporting numbers – 0726419706 / 0726419709.

KDF recruitment is completely free. The Ministry of Defence states that no applicant is required to pay anyone, at any stage, to secure a recruitment slot.
