HÜRKUŞ Deliveries Accelerate: Two More Aircraft Accepted, Air Force Fleet Reaches 4

Haluk Görgün, head of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), announced that acceptance procedures for two more HÜRKUŞ new-generation basic trainer aircraft have been completed by the SSB and the Turkish Air Force Command. According to Görgün’s post on 4 November, the delivery brought the number of HÜRKUŞ aircraft in the Air Force inventory to four.
In his post, Görgün said “the trail of our HÜRKUŞ aircraft is growing in our free skies,” stressing that deliveries were continuing as planned, and announced the development with the words “May it be auspicious for our country and our heroic Air Force.”
The first two HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft were handed over to the Air Force Command after the military type certificate was declared on 11 September 2026. According to the schedule TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) published in its GÖKVATAN magazine (details), a further 12 aircraft are to join the fleet between September and December 2026, deliveries are to continue at a rate of two aircraft per month from 2027, and the 55-aircraft contract is to be completed within 2028. With today’s acceptance, the first step of this year’s target has been taken.
HÜRKUŞ-II, the first Turkish aircraft to receive a national military type certificate, will use its digital cockpit and night-vision-compatible systems to prepare pilot candidates for the jet training to be given on the HÜRJET. The aircraft’s first export customer was Azerbaijan, with 14 aircraft.
The tail numbers of the newly delivered aircraft and the date of the next delivery were not disclosed.
