Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has held on to first place in the Turkey R&D 500 survey, compiled by Turkishtime for the 13th time this year. According to figures the company reported in the 146th issue of GÖKVATAN magazine, TUSAŞ raised its R&D spending by 26.6 percent year on year to 65 billion 207 million lira in 2025.

According to the survey, the 500 companies on the list invested a combined 257 billion 875 million lira in R&D in 2025. On that basis, TUSAŞ’s spending accounts for more than a quarter of the 500 companies’ total.

TUSAŞ’s R&D unit employs 5,100 people, making the company the sector’s second-largest employer in the field. The company also said it holds 43 registered utility models. In the “Top 100 Exporters with R&D Products” category, added to the survey for the first time this year, TUSAŞ ranked third with 58 billion 932 million lira in exports.

Defence and aerospace companies again featured heavily at the top of the list. TUSAŞ, which runs programmes such as KAAN, HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ-II and the ANKA family concurrently, presents this spending as an indicator of its high-technology-focused investments.
