ASELSAN’s Six 2026 Air Defence Contracts Add Up to €7.48 Billion

The six air defence contracts ASELSAN has disclosed on Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) in 2026 add up to €7,476 million, or about €7.48 billion. Of that, €6,242 million comes from five contracts with the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and €1,234 million from a subcomponent deal with ROKETSAN. All six are denominated in euros, so no exchange-rate conversion was needed. These are contract values, not the value of systems delivered or already in service.

The six contracts, one by one
The figures were cross-checked across international reports based on ASELSAN’s KAP filings. We could not open the original filings directly, so the table is limited to what those reports state.
| Date (2026) | Counterparty | Scope | Value (EUR million) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 June | SSB | Procurement of air defence systems; deliveries between 2028 and 2032 | 780 |
| 10 July | SSB | Expansion of air defence serial production, in addition to ongoing projects | 1,470.5 |
| 23 September | ROKETSAN | Subcomponents for air defence systems | 1,234 |
| 1 October | SSB | Addition to ongoing serial production of long-range air defence systems | 1,008.5 |
| 5 October | SSB | Procurement of hybrid air defence systems | 2,460 |
| 26 October | SSB | Development of a new-generation air and missile defence system | 523 |
| Total | 7,476 |
How the total was calculated
780 + 1,470.5 + 1,234 + 1,008.5 + 2,460 + 523 = 7,476. Reports give the July contract as €1,470,500,012.38, and the ROKETSAN deal as €1.234 billion, so the unrounded sum is about €7,476.2 million.
The “€7.4 billion” figure in circulation is the same total rounded down; the arithmetic holds, though €7.5 billion is nearer. One caveat matters: €1,234 million of it is not an SSB order. Counting SSB contracts only gives €6,242 million. Hürriyet Daily News, treating the ROKETSAN deal separately, put the four SSB contracts up to 5 October at roughly €5.72 billion, which matches the first, second, fourth and fifth rows (780 + 1,470.5 + 1,008.5 + 2,460 = 5,719). How the ROKETSAN agreement relates to the SSB contracts, and whether any of its value overlaps with them, is not stated in the sources, so double counting cannot be ruled out.
Two other air-defence-adjacent disclosures sit outside the table: a €488.5 million air defence export to an undisclosed foreign end user on 2 October, and a $195 million radar contract with SSB. Adding them would change the total; only the six above are counted here.
A contract is not a delivery
Only the 16 June contract came with a delivery window (2028 to 2032). For the €2.46 billion hybrid contract, no quantities, configuration or schedule were released, and ASELSAN has not confirmed whether it covers the Gürz family. The 1 October filing does not name SİPER or HİSAR either. The €523 million agreement is a development contract, not production, and reports note that signing does not mean the new system will join the armed forces soon. Our earlier piece on the €523 million deal covers it in detail.
Where they sit in Steel Dome
Several of the contracts are linked to the Steel Dome architecture. Breaking Defense describes its layers as KORKUT, Ejderha and GÖKBERK at short range, with Gürz, HİSAR and SİPER further out, and compares the effort to the US Golden Dome and Israel’s layered systems. According to Quwa, SSB also signed additional serial production contracts with ASELSAN and ROKETSAN for HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O on 10 July. For the largest award, see our report on the €2.46 billion hybrid contract, and for the ROKETSAN agreement, the €1.234 billion piece.
We have not drawn a table against Patriot, SAMP/T or IRIS-T SLM. The sources give no unit-level data that would make such a comparison fair.
Customer concentration
Quwa, citing ASELSAN’s disclosure, reports that SSB accounts for 30.6% of the company’s net sales and 37.8% of its trade receivables. Five of the six contracts coming from one public buyer adds to that concentration. ASELSAN’s nine-month results and its $30.7 billion backlog are covered in a separate article; this one deals only with air defence contracts.
What remains unknown
- System type, quantities and delivery dates for the hybrid and long-range contracts.
- The relationship between the ROKETSAN agreement and the SSB contracts.
- How the contracts will phase into revenue; ASELSAN says only that it expects a positive effect.
FAQ
How much did ASELSAN sign for air defence in 2026?
The six contracts counted here total €7,476 million: €6,242 million with SSB across five contracts and €1,234 million with ROKETSAN.
Do these contracts mean the systems have been delivered?
No. Contract value and delivered systems are different things. Only the €780 million contract has a published delivery window, 2028 to 2032.
What does the €2.46 billion contract cover?
ASELSAN describes it as procurement of hybrid air defence systems. Quantities, configuration and schedule were not disclosed.
