Yazı Özetini Göster

What is HAVELSAN ATAKSİM? ATAKSİM is the full mission simulator for the T129 ATAK attack and tactical reconnaissance helicopter, developed by HAVELSAN. Delivered to the Army Aviation Command of the Turkish Land Forces in 2019, the system lets pilots train without real-world risk. This article explains what ATAKSİM is, what it does and its technical features, based on open sources.

For the company’s simulation ecosystem see HAVELSAN simulation and training technologies, and for a general profile, What is HAVELSAN?

What does ATAKSİM do?

ATAKSİM supports the orientation, refresher, emergency, firing and war-preparation training of pilots who use or will use the T129 ATAK. Crews can rehearse tactics, weapons, avionics, flight operations and malfunction scenarios in day/night and all-weather conditions, safely and cost-effectively. Training taken on the system can count toward actual flight hours.

Technical features

ATAKSİM offers high-fidelity aerodynamic and helicopter-systems simulation, a wide-angle visual system (270° horizontal, 150° vertical), and the actual T129 ATAK mission computer and avionics. Its six-axis motion platform can reproduce the movements an ATAK helicopter performs in reality.

Integration with HELSİM

ATAKSİM can operate integrated with the S-70 Black Hawk and AS532 Cougar helicopter simulators previously delivered by HAVELSAN under the HELSİM project, enabling joint training across different platforms.

Why does it matter?

ATAKSİM was nationally developed and is roughly 80% domestically produced. An indigenous simulator reduces external dependence, lowers training cost, preserves the real helicopter’s flight life, and lets risky scenarios be repeated safely.
