Ukraine destroys rare Russian Zemledeliye remote minelayer with FPV drones

Ukraine’s 412th Nemesis brigade destroyed a rare Russian ISDM Zemledeliye remote minelaying system with FPV drones on the Zaporizhzhia front.

In an operation reported on 16 July 2026, the 412th Nemesis brigade’s Asgard battalion struck the Zemledeliye (“Agriculture”) system, built on a heavy KamAZ chassis. It fires rockets to scatter mines across areas from 5 to 15 kilometres away, laying minefields within minutes and automatically mapping them via computerised controls.
Ukraine stressed the platform is relatively rare and hard to replace. Zemledeliye had been used heavily during Russia’s 2023 defensive preparations.

What is Zemledeliye?
ISDM Zemledeliye is an engineering system designed to lay mines quickly across wide areas with rocket-delivered munitions. It can establish a full mine barrier within minutes, making it valuable for building defensive lines and slowing counterattacks.
Ukraine faces a growing remote-mining threat; in areas such as Novopavlivka, logistics have had to shift onto ground robots. Destroying the mine-laying platform itself is therefore a far more durable gain than clearing the mines it deploys.
Deep-strike capability
The 412th Nemesis brigade conducts deep- and mid-range strikes against Russian air defence, logistics and engineering assets. According to Ukrainian sources, in a single January week the brigade destroyed an estimated $300 million in Russian air-defence equipment.
Taking out a rare platform like Zemledeliye with low-cost FPV drones is another sign that the cost-effect balance on the battlefield is shifting toward unmanned systems.

Remote minelaying systems are among the most effective tools for restricting freedom of movement along static front lines. Destroying a platform like Zemledeliye is not merely the loss of one vehicle; it opens a temporary gap in Russia’s ability to erect rapid defensive barriers. Ukraine’s targeting of engineering assets reflects an effort to reshape the manoeuvre balance by striking behind the front.
The episode shows that cheap FPV drones now threaten not only tanks and armour but also high-value, rare engineering and logistics platforms. In modern land warfare, fielding expensive, low-quantity specialist systems near the front line grows ever riskier, forcing every army to rethink deployment and protection doctrine.
