YILTEX ARMOR: a Çorum body-armour plant builds a four-country footprint
European and North American police forces have spent the last three years rebuilding body-armour stocks, and the tier that actually fills those orders is rarely the one that appears in defence coverage. It is mid-sized textile plants with ballistic certification. YILTEX ARMOR, based in the Turkish provincial city of Çorum, is one of them — and it has quietly built a presence across four countries.
The company lists operating addresses in Turkey (Çorum), the United States (Los Angeles area), Serbia (Belgrade) and South Africa (Gauteng). Its American entity, Yiltex Armor USA Inc, was incorporated in California on 12 February 2025 according to state filings.
Certification, not marketing
YILTEX ARMOR frames its ballistic performance against NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA and maintains a dedicated section for test results under that standard. The site notes that model-specific ballistic evidence is released under controlled conditions rather than published openly — standard practice on the supply side, and a detail worth noting for procurement officers who need documentation before tender submission.
The management-system certificates it lists are ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and SA 8000:2014, issued through KIOSCERT, Aliment Certification and International Documenting System. The SA 8000 social-accountability certificate matters more than it looks: European public tenders increasingly carry labour-standard clauses that eliminate suppliers unable to evidence them.

The Belgrade node
Of the four locations, Serbia is the one that carries strategic weight for European buyers. A Belgrade presence puts assembly and logistics inside the European trade perimeter without the cost base of a Western European plant — the same logic that has drawn several Turkish subsystem suppliers into the Western Balkans since 2023.
The United States node addresses a different constraint. Federal and state law-enforcement procurement in the US frequently requires a domestic legal entity, which is what the February 2025 California incorporation provides. South Africa serves a large regional private-security market that buys soft armour in volume and is comparatively price-driven.
Trade-show route to market
YILTEX ARMOR’s export channel runs through exhibitions rather than government-to-government packages. Company owner Murat Boynueğri told Turkish local press the firm attended SHOT Show in Las Vegas in 2023, 2024 and 2025, displaying ballistic plates, soft ballistic materials, vests, bullet-resistant headgear, military gloves and tactical bags. The group also exhibited at IDEF 2025 in Istanbul between 22 and 27 July 2025.
The parent company runs 5,000 square metres of production floor in Çorum and operates a second brand, YILTEX SKY, in parachute systems. It is a member of the SAHA İstanbul cluster.
