How many HÜRJET will Türkiye buy? Orders, production and deliveries
Short answer: Under the SSB’s contract schedule the Turkish Air Force will receive 16 HÜRJET in the first tranche: four Block-0 (2027) and twelve Block-1 (2028-2029). TUSAŞ is building six aircraft in the first production phase; the first of them flew on 30 August 2026. As of September 2026 none has been delivered. The Air Force’s total long-term requirement has not been officially stated.
The answer depends on which number you mean: aircraft ordered, aircraft on the line, and aircraft handed over are three different figures. The table keeps them apart.

The contract: 4 Block-0 plus 12 Block-1
The SSB’s 2024-2028 Sectoral Strategy Document sets out the binding schedule: “delivery of 4 Block-0 aircraft in 2027 and 12 Block-1 aircraft of the same configuration in 2028-2029”. Because both blocks share one configuration, the first four are not a pre-series batch. These 16 aircraft are the first tranche, not the number needed to retire the whole T-38 fleet; no total fleet target has been published, and larger figures circulating in the press are unofficial.
Production: six aircraft in the first phase
Statements around the 30 August 2026 maiden flight put six aircraft in the first production phase. That is a production batch, distinct from the order quantity. Spain’s 30 aircraft are not in this count
The export order is often mixed up with the domestic one. According to the SSB statement carried by TSKGV, the Spanish Air and Space Force will receive 30 HÜRJET under a €2.6 billion package, with deliveries from 2028.
