The GÖKBEY (T625) has moved past the prototype stage into serial production and delivery. Here we bring together its production status, the new 57-aircraft order, its export potential and its mission variants.

Serial-production status

The first serial-production aircraft, J6004, carries significant improvements over the earlier examples:

  • About 200 kg lighter
  • Improved maintenance panels
  • A two-part sliding cockpit canopy
  • Paratroop-capable door mechanism
  • Updated avionics and software

Export potential

The GÖKBEY’s export freedom depends largely on the transition to the indigenous TS1400 engine. With a local engine, the platform escapes third-party export vetoes and can be offered freely to friendly and allied nations. Modern avionics, multi-role architecture and competitive operating cost are the GÖKBEY’s main cards on the export market.

Why it matters

By steadily completing the “local airframe, local engine, local avionics” chain, the GÖKBEY reduces Turkey’s foreign dependency in rotorcraft. As serial production matures and the TS1400 transition completes, the platform becomes a long-term anchor both in the domestic inventory and on the export market.
