Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda announced on 27 May 2026 that Lithuania will procure 936 Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles for EUR1.5 billion under the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) framework. Around 300 vehicles are expected by 2030; contract signing anticipated in 2027. If confirmed, Lithuania becomes CAVS history’s largest single customer, joining Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, Denmark, Norway and the UK. Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas described the platform as “a multirole platform compatible with air defence systems and capabilities, as well as paramedical and logistical objectives.” Lithuania currently spends over 3% of GDP on defence.
