MEHDEN-26: Türkiye Field-Tests Electronic Warfare Systems in Konya

Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence (MSB) announced that the Joint Electronic Warfare Trials 2026 (MEHDEN-26) are being carried out successfully in Konya. The trials measure the effectiveness of electronic warfare (EW) systems used by the Turkish Armed Forces in operations and of systems still under development.
What the Ministry Said
On October 22, 2026, the ministry posted a video of the trials on its NSosyal account. It described the aim as determining the effectiveness of EW systems and identifying technical and tactical development and improvement needs. Reports say the trials run from October 19 to 23.

Where and Who
The trials take place at the Air Force Electronic Warfare Test and Training Center range in Konya. The General Staff, force commands, the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), public institutions and defence industry companies are taking part.
Why Test Electronic Warfare in the Field
Electronic warfare covers jamming or listening to an adversary’s radars, radios and data links while protecting one’s own from the same. A system that works in a lab may behave differently under real signals and interference, which is what joint trials like this measure. What Was Not Disclosed
The ministry’s post did not name the participating companies or institutions, the types of systems tested, the scenarios or the results.
