U.S. Army Awards AeroVironment 500 Million Dollar Counter-Drone Contract

AeroVironment has secured a 500 million dollar, three-year contract from the U.S. Army for layered counter-drone defense systems. The contract encompasses multiple systems: Titan 4 RF C-UAS with over 550 watts of defeat power, Titan MS multi-sensor platform with 60 km X-band radar scanning, and LOCUST X3 directed-energy laser weapon (20-35+ kW) for small UAV engagement. The Freedom Eagle kinetic missile interceptor, selected under a companion contract, addresses Group 2 and 3 threats. Titan MS can simultaneously track 500+ targets across mobile and fixed positions, representing a significant advancement in integrated drone defense across forward and fixed installations.
