What Is the Mission Master? Rheinmetall’s Infantry UGV and the MUM-T Concept
The Mission Master is Rheinmetall Canada’s autonomous unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), introduced at DSEI 2017. Designed for infantry support, cargo, reconnaissance and weapon-carrier roles, it has become one of NATO’s most visible examples of the Human-Machine Team (MUM-T) concept — giving dismounted soldiers a robotic “mule” that carries ammunition, sensors or weapons through contested terrain.

MUM-T Concept
Mission Master’s key operational role is as a “mule”: an infantry squad advances in contact while Mission Master trails with ammunition, medical supplies or power. It can share targeting data, integrate with drones and conduct lead reconnaissance. The concept draws directly from Ukraine’s unmanned system lessons.
