Fincantieri Acquires Four Underwater Technology Companies for 600 Million Euros

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has announced deals worth approximately 600 million euros in initial investment to acquire controlling stakes in four underwater technology companies: Next Geosolutions, WSense, Graal Tech, and Defcomm. The acquisitions create the first fully vertically integrated underwater operator, combining capabilities across marine surveying, autonomous underwater and surface vehicles, and subsea communications. Fincantieri expects the acquisitions to more than double its underwater business revenue from 667 million euros in 2025 to over 1.1 billion euros on a pro-forma basis in 2026. EBITDA is projected to rise to approximately 220 million euros. At the group level, the acquisitions will drive a 13 percent increase in 2026 pro-forma EBITDA and 40 percent increase in pro-forma net profit, achieving growth targets originally set for 2030 four years ahead of schedule.
