TB2 Second Generation Aircraft Systems: SATCOM and EO/IR Kit Update
BAYKAR integrates the second-generation avionics package into the world’s best-selling Turkish drone Bayraktar TB2. The update will also be offered to existing operators as a reverse upgrade package.
SATCOM is Coming
The original version of the TB2 did not have a beyond-line-of-sight communication channel. With the second-generation package, the TB2 gains satellite communication (SATCOM) capability. This significantly increases the operational range.
New EO/IR Kit
The platform’s sensor head is being upgraded. The new EO/IR kit provides higher resolution, improved target tracking, and integration of a laser rangefinder.
Open to Export Customers
The upgrade package will also be offered to existing export customers. Nearly 30 Bayraktar TB2 operators worldwide will be able to take advantage of the new package.
