Lockheed Martin unveiled its Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Adapted Capability Effector (PAC-3 ACE) at the Farnborough International Airshow on 20 July 2026. The interceptor targets a unit cost of less than half that of the current PAC-3 MSE round.
According to the company, PAC-3 ACE aims for a per-unit price below 2 million dollars through manufacturing simplification and a deliberately narrowed threat envelope. For reference, the PAC-3 MSE costs roughly 4 million dollars per shot.
What It Targets
PAC-3 ACE is designed to counter airbreathing threats, cruise missiles and close- to short-range ballistic missiles. It builds on the MSE technology base and continues to use the PAC-3 software found in the MSE.
