HAVELSAN HÜRJET Simulator: A Double Export to Spain

HAVELSAN HÜRJET Simulator: A Double Export to Spain
Yazı Özetini Göster

What is the HAVELSAN HÜRJET simulator? HAVELSAN is developing a full mission and flight training simulator for HÜRJET, the jet trainer aircraft built by TUSAŞ. The simulator is planned to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command at the end of 2026. More significantly, under Spain’s HÜRJET procurement, HAVELSAN’s simulator software and data packages will also be exported to Spain. This article covers the project based on official sources.

What does the project include?

The package HAVELSAN is developing for HÜRJET covers a full mission simulator and flight training devices that let pilots complete type-rating, refresher and mission training without boarding the real aircraft. The simulator will be used to train HÜRJET pilots serving in both Türkiye and Spain.

A double export to Spain

After Spain procured HÜRJET as a trainer aircraft, an export door also opened on the simulator side accompanying the jet. HAVELSAN will provide the simulator software and all data packages to Spain’s simulator manufacturer. This reverses the model in which Türkiye imported simulators from abroad for years and localised them: Türkiye is now the side exporting software and data packages. In addition, the mission planning system HAVELSAN developed for HÜRJET will also be exported to Spain after its integration into the aircraft.

Timeline

The simulator is expected to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force at the end of 2026. HÜRJET is planned to enter service in Türkiye in 2027 and in Spain in 2028; the simulator infrastructure is progressing in parallel with this schedule.

Europe’s largest simulator facility

HAVELSAN is building a new simulator production facility in the HAB Organised Industrial Zone in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Once all phases are complete, the facility is intended to become Europe’s largest simulator production and integration facility.
