What happened

Colombia ordered two Embraer KC-390 Millennium tanker-transport aircraft. The deal aims to modernize the country's airlift and aerial-refueling capability.

The KC-390 is a jet-powered medium military transport built to replace older turboprop platforms. It combines cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, airdrop and tanker roles in a single airframe.

System context

The Embraer KC-390 Millennium is Brazil's flagship effort to carry its regional-jet experience into military airlift. Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic are among operators that have chosen the platform.

The Colombian order strengthens the aircraft's momentum in the Latin American market, adding a new regional operator beyond Brazil.
