Aselsan Signs €1.47 Billion Serial-Production Deal With SSB for Steel Dome

Aselsan has signed a contract worth about €1.47 billion with Turkey’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) to expand serial production of air defence systems. According to the company’s disclosure, the exact value is €1,470,500,012.38. Aselsan said the deal adds to ongoing serial-production projects and is expected to boost revenue, without detailing a delivery timetable or the specific systems covered.

What Steel Dome is

Steel Dome (Çelik Kubbe) is a multi-layered, integrated air and missile defence architecture that links air defence weapons, radars, electro-optical systems, communications modules and command-and-control stations under a single network. The goal is a real-time common air picture that answers threats at different ranges and altitudes in layers. Systems such as Korkut, Hisar-A, Göker, Gökberk, Hisar-O and Siper can operate within the integrated structure, with Aselsan as lead contractor.

Earlier contracts

This is the latest in a series of Steel Dome deals. Aselsan signed a $1.9 billion agreement with the SSB in September 2025 and an roughly $900 million (€780 million) contract in June 2026, with component deliveries expected between 2028 and 2032. The new contract aims to raise serial-production volume and scale up different layers of the architecture simultaneously.

Why it matters

Steel Dome sits at the center of Turkey’s goal of moving air defence from stand-alone systems to an integrated network. The back-to-back serial-production contracts show the program shifting from demonstration to scaled production and fielding. Because Turkey develops layers from the long-range Siper to short-range systems largely domestically, it holds an advantage in supply security and export potential. As the covered systems and delivery timeline become clearer, the architecture’s operational maturity will be easier to measure.
