What Does HENSOLDT Make? Full Product Catalogue — Radars, EW, Optronics

HENSOLDT produces one of the broadest portfolios in European defense electronics, covering ground-based air defense radars, naval sensors, electronic warfare suites, signals intelligence platforms, electro-optical systems, submarine optronic periscopes, and vehicle sensor fusion solutions.
Air Defense and Surveillance Radars
The TRML-4D is HENSOLDT’s flagship ground radar — a C-band GaN AESA system with 250-kilometer range, tracking over 1,500 targets simultaneously, and deployable in under 15 minutes from a single truck-mounted ISO container. Delivered to Ukraine from 2024, it has seen combat use alongside the IRIS-T SLM air defense system. The ASR-NG (next-generation airport surveillance radar, S-band, 120 NM range) and the MSSR 2000 ID (NATO Mode 5-compliant IFF radar) complete the fixed-installation radar family.
Surveillance and Counter-UAS Radars
The SPEXER 2000 family uses X-band AESA FMCW technology to cover everything from nano-drone detection to very short-range air defense. The SPEXER 2000 3D MkIII is integrated with Rheinmetall’s Skyranger 30 system and was also delivered to Ukraine. COBRA, developed by a NATO consortium, detects mortar rounds and rocket launches at up to 100 km and is fielded by more than 40 NATO systems. TwInvis is unique: a passive radar that exploits commercial FM and television broadcasts to detect targets without emitting any signal of its own, making it immune to anti-radiation missiles. PrecISR is an X-band GaN AESA airborne radar for UAVs and helicopters — ITAR-free and deliverable within nine months.
Naval Radar Systems
The TRS-4D C-band AESA radar serves Germany’s F125 and F126 frigates, its K130 corvettes, and the U.S. Navy’s Freedom-class Littoral Combat Ships (as the AN/SPS-80). Available in rotating single-panel and fixed four-panel configurations, it covers both air defense and surface surveillance. Quadome, developed by HENSOLDT South Africa, recently secured a contract for three UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary Fleet Solid Support ships.
Electronic Warfare and SIGINT
The Kalaetron family defines HENSOLDT’s EW ambitions. Kalaetron Attack is a GaN-based AI-driven escort jammer for the Eurofighter Typhoon. Kalaetron Integral covers 30 MHz to 40 GHz continuously, integrating ELINT and COMINT in a single airborne package — and serves as the primary sensor payload of the PEGASUS strategic SIGINT aircraft (Bombardier Global 6000, delivery 2027). Kalaetron RWR is a fully digital software-defined radar warning receiver for both aircraft and helicopters.
