Tüzün Savunma: a new Turkish supplier chasing full localisation in military electronics

Western defence primes have spent the past decade worrying about fragile electronics supply chains. Turkey is attacking the same problem from a different angle: seeding small, specialised suppliers whose explicit mandate is import substitution. Tüzün Savunma, an Ankara company founded in 2023, is a textbook example of the species.
The mandate
The company states its goal plainly: 100 percent locally developed and certified solutions in military electronic boards, cable harnesses, electromechanical assemblies and integrated systems. Production began in April 2025 at an interim facility in Ankara’s İvedik Organised Industrial Zone, with a purpose-built smart factory planned for 2027-2028 on company land in the Başkent OIZ third expansion area. Its declared fields stretch from cabling and power distribution to electronic warfare and directed energy technologies, communications and command and control, and space and satellite systems.
Why it matters beyond Turkey
Individually, a two-year-old board and harness shop is not strategic news. Collectively, the pattern is. Turkey’s defence exports have pushed the big names, from Baykar to ASELSAN, into backlogs that their supply base must absorb, and Ankara’s procurement agency has made certified domestic second-tier suppliers a policy priority. Companies like Tüzün Savunma are the mechanism by which Turkish platforms become progressively less exposed to Western export controls on components, a trend NATO planners now track as a matter of course.
The company will exhibit at SAHA EXPO 2026, held 5-9 May 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Center in Hall 8, stand 8H-13, an event expected to draw more than 1,700 exhibitors and delegations from over 120 countries. No publicly verified revenue, headcount or contract figures are available yet, which is unsurprising for a supplier this young.
