FNSS KAPLAN MT Medium Tank: Update in Indonesian Configuration
FNSS and PT Pindad have partnered to develop a comprehensive upgrade package for the medium tank configuration known as Harimau in Indonesia. The system will expand its role in the inventory of the Indonesian Army.
Medium Tank Concept
KAPLAN MT occupies an intermediate position between the main battle tank and armored personnel carrier. It offers an optimized balance between armor and mobility for operations in tropical forests and soft terrains.
Special Upgrades for Indonesia
The upgrade package includes a cooling system optimized for tropical climates, local communication integration, and improved fire control.
Second Customer Expectation
FNSS has begun preliminary discussions with a second customer for KAPLAN MT in the Asian market. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Bangladesh are among the potential customers.
