Turkey’s Presidential Communications Directorate has published an interactive map showing the roads that will be closed and the alternative routes available across Ankara during the NATO Summit on 7-8 July 2026. The tool is live at harita.iletisim.gov.tr.

The tool consolidates every traffic measure that applies during the summit onto a single screen. Users can set a start and end point (A → B) and generate a route that avoids the motorcade corridors.

Closure window and affected roads

According to the Ankara Governor’s Office and police, the main arteries around the Presidential Complex will be fully closed to vehicle traffic from 07:00 on Tuesday 7 July until 23:59 on Wednesday 8 July.

On the routes used by visiting heads of state and government, closures will apply only while convoys pass through:

  • Özal, İsmet İnönü, Ankara and Anadolu Boulevards
  • Atatürk, Mevlana and Dumlupınar Boulevards
  • Türk Kızılayı, Cinnah and Çankaya Avenues
  • Simon Bolivar, Rabindranath Tagore and John F. Kennedy Avenues

Red Zone

A “Red Zone” regime will be in force for the summit. The Esenboğa and Etimesgut airport corridors, the Söğütözü district that hosts the Presidential Complex, and the areas around the delegations’ hotels and transit routes have been designated as red zones, with controlled vehicle and pedestrian access.
