FNSS KAPLAN MT Medium Tank: Update in Indonesian Configuration

FNSS and PT Pindad have partnered to develop an extensive upgrade package for the KAPLAN MT, a medium tank configuration for Indonesia known as Harimau. The system will expand its role in the inventory of the Indonesian Army.

Medium Tank Concept

KAPLAN MT occupies an intermediate position between a main battle tank and an armored personnel carrier in the medium tank category. It offers an optimized balance between armor and mobility for operations in tropical forests and soft terrains.

Specific Upgrades for Indonesia

The upgrade package includes a cooling system optimized for tropical climates, integration of local communication, and improved fire control.

Anticipation of a Second Customer

FNSS has begun preliminary negotiations for a second customer in the Asian market for KAPLAN MT. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Bangladesh are among the potential clients.
