HGK-3 GPS/INS Navigation Kit: New Version Export Approval Obtained
TÜBİTAK SAGE developed the HGK-3 GPS/INS guidance kit, which has received additional export licenses with the release of the new version. This system provides precision strike capabilities for the classic MK-83 and MK-84 bombs.
From Bombs to Smart Munitions
The HGK-3 transforms classic bombs into guided munitions through the GPS/INS guidance kit installed as a tail module.
In the Turkish Air Force
The HGK-3 is currently operational in the Turkish Air Force’s F-16 fleet. This system is not only the cornerstone of the TÜBİTAK SAGE smart munitions family but also the primary munitions for precision strike operations.
New Version Capabilities
The new version offers enhanced GPS signal locking capabilities and provides more reliable performance in GPS-denied environments. The INS backup mode has also been improved.
