HGK-3 GPS/INS Guidance Kit: Export Approvals for the New Version Have Been Received
TÜBİTAK SAGE has developed the HGK-3 GPS/INS guidance kit, which has received additional export approvals with its new version. The system provides precise impact capability to the classic MK-83 and MK-84 bombs.
Egg Bomb → Smart Munition
The HGK-3 allows the transformation of classic bombs into guided munitions thanks to the GPS/INS guidance set installed as a tail module.
In the Turkish Air Force
The HGK-3 is currently used operationally in the Turkish Air Force’s F-16 fleets. The system is both the cornerstone of TÜBİTAK SAGE’s smart munitions family and the primary munition for precise impact operations.
New Version Capabilities
The new version offers a more powerful GPS signal lock and more reliable performance in GPS-interfered environments. The INS backup mode has also been improved.
