Update on the configuration of the FNSS KAPLAN MT medium tank: Indonesia
FNSS and PT Pindad have announced a comprehensive upgrade package for the Indonesian Harimau configuration of the medium tank KAPLAN MT developed in collaboration. This system will expand the role of the Indonesian army in its inventory.
Medium Tank Concept
The KAPLAN MT belongs to the medium tank category, filling the gap between main battle tanks and armored fighting vehicles. It offers an improved balance between armor and mobility for operations in tropical forests and soft soil.
Updates for Indonesia
The upgrade package includes an improved cooling system for tropical climates, local communication integration, and enhanced fire control.
Expected Second Customer
FNSS has begun preliminary negotiations with a second customer in the Asian market. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Bangladesh are among the potential clients.
