TF-2000 Air Defense Frigate: SİPER Integration in the Design Phase
The TF-2000 Air Defense Frigate planned for the Turkish Navy has reached the design phase for the integration of the long-range SİPER air defense missile. ASFAT shared the project’s progress.
Vertical Launch System
The TF-2000 will utilize a multi-cell vertical launch system (VLS). In this way, the SİPER and other national air defense missiles that will be produced in the future can be launched from a single architecture.
Regional Air Defense
The main mission of the TF-2000 is to provide regional air defense to the naval task force. The class is designed to respond to a multi-layered threat profile, including early detection of ballistic missiles.
ÇAFRAD and FIRST SHIP
The core sensor of the class will be the advanced version of ÇAFRAD. The keel laying date for the first ship is planned for mid-2027.
