TF-2000 Air Defense Frigate: SİPER Integration in Design Phase
The planned TF-2000 Air Defense Frigate for the Turkish Naval Forces has reached the design phase for the integration of the SİPER long-range air defense missile. ASFAT shared the progress of the project.
Vertical Launch System
TF-2000 will use a multi-cell vertical launch system (VLS). This will allow the SİPER and other domestic air defense missiles to be produced in the future to be launched from a single architecture.
Regional Air Defense
The primary mission of the TF-2000 is to provide regional air defense to the naval task force. The class is designed to respond to a multi-layered threat profile, including ballistic missile early warning.
ÇAFRAD and FIRST SHIP
The class’s sensor backbone will be an advanced version of ÇAFRAD. The keel-laying date for the first ship is planned for mid-2027.
