MKE — Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. — is Türkiye’s state-owned arms, ammunition, artillery and explosives manufacturer. Founded in 1923 as the Ottoman military industrial tradition was reorganised under the new Republic, MKE has been the backbone of Turkish military supply for a century.
The company produces small arms, machine guns, mortars, artillery, large-calibre ammunition, propellants, explosives and pyrotechnics. Its industrial scale makes it one of the largest single-country ammunition producers in the wider region.
