What Is KAPLAN?
KAPLAN is a family of tracked medium armored combat vehicles developed by FNSS Defence Systems. Designed as a modular base platform, the family includes the KAPLAN-10 anti-tank vehicle, the KAPLAN-20 infantry fighting vehicle, and the KAPLAN MT medium tank produced in cooperation with Indonesia’s Pindad.
History
FNSS developed KAPLAN as the next-generation tracked armored vehicle platform, drawing on decades of experience with the ACV-15 family. Successive prototypes appeared from the mid-2010s. The KAPLAN MT medium tank was developed jointly with Pindad under an Indonesian-Turkish program and is now in service with Indonesia.
